- Don’t.
- , 3. , 4. , & 5. Just stop.
It’s one week into the New Year. Did you make goals and plans and big dreams and schedules and all the things that come with that new year, new me attitude?
It’s been one week.
Have you stuck to them? Are you currently beating yourself up because 1. No, you haven’t or 2. you couldn’t even begin to make some last week, but you really want to, so you keep banging your head against the wall trying to think of something you can force yourself to do better.
(If you’re #3 and your rocking it out with your goals and such. Keep that shit to yourself. KIDDING. Good for you- go you. Keep it up.)
For the rest of us-
This is your friendly reminder that … HEY, YOU ARE STILL YOU.
January is the month that follows December, next month will continue to be February and still,
you will still be you.
Every year, every month, every day, every second;
you will be you.
That means –
Every year, every month, every day, every second,
you can reinvent you.
You can become better, you can grow, you can change. And that’s a beautiful thing because
there is NO ONE like you.
No one thinks the way you do, does the things you do, feels the way you do.
You add to this world every moment you’re breathing.
This also means you don’t need to just let your breath be your addition to the world. You can wake up on a Thursday morning in July and make a goal, make a promise to yourself, set a plan. Don’t weigh yourself down with all the January hype. Don’t let yourself get caught up and upset that you couldn’t get to the gym 7 days last week or you didn’t meal prep Sunday. IT’S OKAY. Be patient with yourself. You have every day to start again. (Just make sure if you set your goals, you make moves to reach them.)
Start small. It’s Monday, January 8th. What can you do better tomorrow? Write a list and cross each goal off as you go. Maybe, the only goal you can make is to get to bed earlier this week, every day. That’s A GREAT GOAL! Maybe, it’s to get more exercise. Did you know that stretching or walking or shadowboxing for 15 min a day is a fantastic form of exercise; you don’t need to train for a 5 round title fight straight out the gate. Or maybe, you’re busy and right now, you don’t have time to make a goal list. IT’S OKAY. January is just another month.
It’s okay to not make a New Years resolution.
You can make a Wednesday in February resolution instead.
New year…. same me. SURPRISE. 😉
This was great, Jill. Thank you, foreal.
thank you!
